MTF Biologics Highlights Innovations at 2019 Plastic Surgery The Meeting

Edison, N.J. (September 17, 2019) –MTF Biologics, a nonprofit organization that saves and heals lives, will showcase an expansive portfolio of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic solutions at this year’s Plastic Surgery The Meeting, September 20-23, 2019, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.

“We’re delighted to return to Plastic Surgery The Meeting,” said Joe Yaccarino, President and CEO of MTF Biologics. “MTF Biologics collaborates with clinicians around the world to develop new allografts that solve challenges and improve outcomes facing surgeons and their patients. This meeting allows us to connect with clinicians to discuss trends and identify their needs to better support the plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery communities.”

MTF Biologics will be highlighting reconstructive and aesthetic tissue forms during Plastic Surgery The Meeting, including:

  • Renuva®: An allograft adipose matrix which may be used for the replacement of damaged or inadequate integumental adipose tissue matrix, or for the reinforcement or supplemental support in underlying adipose tissue matrix as the result of damage or naturally occurring defects.  An alternative to fat grafting, Renuva is human allograft adipose tissue processed to preserve the inherent matrix of the adipose tissue. The resulting allograft serves as a framework to support cellular repopulation at the surgical site. This all-natural solution does not require general anesthesia or operative procedures. Renuva injections can be performed in a doctor's office.

Renuva will be featured at the MTF Biologics booth and discussed at the satellite symposium, “Advances in Cosmetic Regenerative Medicine,” with Dr. Farzad Nahai on Friday, September 20, at 3:15 p.m. at the Innovation Theatre.

  • Profile®: A pre-shaped, costal cartilage allograft, Profile, may be used in rhinoplasty procedures. It allows surgeons to avoid additional surgery to obtain cartilage from a patient's ear or rib, leading to less post-operative pain and scarring. Made from human tissue, Profile is a natural alternative to synthetic implants.
  • FlexHD® Pliable:  FlexHD Pliable is an acellular dermal matrix (ADM) which may be used for the replacement of damaged or inadequate integumental tissue for reconstruction, repair, reinforcement or supplemental support of soft tissue. FlexHD Pliable uses MTF Biologics' patented deeper cut, creating grafts with greater porosity, consistent thickness and no sidedness that enables easier cell adhesion and incorporation. FlexHD Pliable is also conformable, allowing for exceptional handling in the operating room.

  • LipoGrafter®: LipoGrafter is an all-in-one fat grafting solution to address harvesting, decantation and reinjection. LipoGrafter is a start-to-finish, closed system, which decreases risk of contamination due to ambient air exposure and minimizes fat cell damage. The easy-to-use technology offers surgeons a safe and efficient way to harvest a patient's fat and re-inject it into areas where the patient may seek additional volume.

  • Meso BioMatrix® Surgical Mesh: Meso BioMatrix Surgical Mesh is a strong, thin, xenograft tissue form for plastic and reconstructive surgery that offers surgeons a new option for patients requiring soft tissue repair and/or reinforcement such as suture line reinforcement and muscle flap reinforcement. Meso BioMatrix offers consistent thickness, maintains a clinically relevant strength profile, and has superior conformability and handling characteristics.

MTF Biologics also will offer visitors a unique opportunity to touch and experience these tissue forms at its Tissue Experience Station. This interactive station, which was unveiled at Plastic Surgery The Meeting in 2018, allows clinicians to get up-close and personal to learn about MTF Biologics’ allografts and talk to surgeons and key opinion leaders who use them in their practices.
