What is Renuva?

Renuva is an all-natural off-the-shelf injectable extracellular matrix rich with regenerative properties that acts as a scaffold, allowing the body to recruit new fat cells to attach to it. Made from human allograft tissue, Renuva contains the same collagens, growth factors, and proteins as autologous fat and is a completely acellular, safe, and long-lasting alternative to fat transfer with liposuction.

Where can Renuva be used?

Renuva is to be used where fat naturally exists. Common applications include injections in the face, breast and body for cosmetic purposes. Also, Renuva has been used successfully in reconstructive procedures like cleft lip and palate, Parry-Romberg syndrome, and for facial lipodystrophy associated with HIV treatment. Renuva is regulated by the FDA and classified as a human cellular and tissue-based product (HCT/P).

It is commonly used in the face, hands, breast, and body for the following procedures:

  • Nasolabial Folds
  • Cheek Filling
  • Hand Rejuvenation
  • Breast Contouring
  • Liposuction Irregularities
  • Depressed Scars

How does Renuva Work?

When injected, Renuva acts as a scaffold allowing the body to create new fat cells in its place.  It is hypothesized that in the presence of these regenerative components, the body signals for cell recruitment and differentiation resulting in new fat creation (adipogenesis) and blood vessel formation (angiogenesis).
