Recovery partner organizations recognized for excellence in technical performance

 

Edison, NJ (May 12, 2021) — MTF Biologics recently announced winners of the 2020 Technical Awards. The awards were presented via webinar on April 1, 2021. This series of awards recognizes excellence in tissue recovery services.

“The past year has been very difficult for all of us, but the ongoing commitment of our Recovery Partners to excellence in the tissue procurement process remained intact in 2020.  It is our pleasure and privilege to recognize them for their dedication to donors, their families, and transplant recipients and in helping us all fulfill the mission of Saving and Healing Lives,” said Mike Real, Vice President, Procurement.

TECHNICAL AWARDS

Golden Glove Award – In recognition of excellence in the sterile recovery of allografts for transplantation presented to Lifesharing and Living Legacy Foundation.

Golden Scalpel Award – In recognition of excellence in the recovery of soft tissue presented to DonorConnect.

Golden Hourglass Award – In recognition of excellence in facilitating the release of donors presented to LifeSource and Midwest Transplant Network (for most improved).

Golden Hourglass Award, Birth Tissue – In recognition of excellence in facilitating the release of donors presented to Versiti Organ and Tissue Donation.

Golden Graft Award – In recognition of superior surgical technique in the skin allograft recovery presented to LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma and Life Alaska.

Trinity Award – In recognition of excellence in the recovery of tissues needed to provide fresh Trinity allografts based on hemipelvis recovery rates and the bioburden rates presented to Life Alaska.

Neon Block Award – In recognition of excellence in the recovery of tissues needed to provide fresh osteochondral allografts based on en-bloc recovery rates, bioburden rates and the timely release of donor charts presented to Legacy of Life Hawaii.

Emerald Award of Excellence – In recognition of achieving and maintaining best practice levels for the entire year of 2020 in key performance areas presented to  LifeSource, LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma, MTF Biologics Tissue Services-Rochester, and Versiti Organ and Tissue Donation.

Platinum Partner Award – In recognition of recovery partner with best overall performance in all critical technical categories including donor release, bioburden results, soft tissue error rates, skin recovery, and hemipelvis and en-bloc recovery rates presented to Versiti Organ and Tissue Donation.

In addition to the Technical Awards, MTF presented recognition awards for all Partners who achieved best practice levels in any of the performance categories during 2020.
